How much do you charge?

How much does a house cost? It all depends on project complexity & requested features. Prices start at $800 USD for a basic, single-layout blog design.

How do I get started?

Please start by contacting me with your project details. I’ll review what you submit and send a quote. Please allow up to 1 week for a response, but I usually reply within 24-48 hours. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

In general, you need a hosting account and domain name to start a new site. I only work with c-panel hosts that support WordPress. Recommended hosts: HostGator & BlueHost.

How soon can we start?

Simply let me know you’re ready to start and we’ll work out a project start date. If there’s a waiting list, I’ll let you know of my next availability.

As soon as we negotiate a start date, you will receive a contract and invoice for 50% of the design fee via e-mail. Work on your project will not begin until you have submitted all deposits and have signed the design contract.

What happens if I need to postpone or cancel my project?

In fairness to each client, I must maintain a set schedule. If you need to postpone, please let me know and you will be given the next available start date.

No refunds will be given after the project start date.

What’s your availability?

Studio hours vary. I’m available by e-mail practically 7 days a week and my response time is usually 24 hours or less.

Fast response times are for your benefit so that we stay on track for your desired launch date. If you cannot maintain a timely level of communication, I’m not the designer for you.

The design process requires full concentration to get every detail just right, so my primary form of communication is e-mail.

I am happy to provide a scheduled telephone or Skype consultation for up to 1 hour at the start of your project.

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time is typically 4-6 weeks. This largely depends on the number of revisions requested and client response time.

What is your policy on revisions?

My design fee includes 2 major rounds of revisions. For the most part, I’m flexible, but reserve the right to ask for additional revision fees at $20/round if a client proves to be picky.

To keep the number of requests to a minimum, please make a running list of what you want to revise and submit a list for each round.

Additional features/requests that fall outside of the scope of the original contract will be billed separate from the design fee.

How do I submit payment?

All invoices are sent to your e-mail inbox via Paypal. You do not need a PayPal account to submit payment by credit card via the PayPal site. 

Note that by paying my invoice you agree to all fees & project terms.

Do you provide support?

I am available throughout your project to help you get acquainted with your new site.

Maintenance and revision requests made after project completion are charged in 1-hour increments at $60/hour. Examples include: plugin installation requests, corrections for user error, maintenance requests, content updates, and so on.

On the rare occasion there is a development error that needs correction, I provide unlimited support at no additional charge.

Can I get copies of everything for my records?

Once final payment has been submitted, you will receive a master zip file of all related design files for your records. Please store them in a secure location as I am not required to keep copies for you.

After a period of time, I will delete your files to free up space for new clients.

What is your copyright policy?

All code, graphics, and templates, unless otherwise stated, are protected under copyright and are property of Modern Muse.

You may not transfer or resell the artwork I design for you.

Design credits (the link to my web site) shall remain in place and is not to be modified or deleted without prior consent.

What can I expect during the design process?

You can expect timely, friendly service as I walk you through the basics of building & maintaining a fabulous web site. A How It Works page is coming soon.
